Valley Realty, Agent Spotlight: Holly A. Havens What do you do when you working? I am completing my third property renovation in Lambertville, and the eirca 1850 property demands a lot of attention! I love to garden and have a fig tree that has been transplanted several times. Living in Lambertville offers me the canal path for biking, hiking, walking my rescue dog Rocky, and the river for swimming, tub ing and kayaking. I was Executive Director of the Hunterdon County Housing Corporation and working on my final project for graduate school. The focus of the project was an actual affordable housing project built in Flemington, N.J., on the comer of Church and Broad Streets. I prepared the market and feasibility study for the developer and incorporated my knowledge of funding sources used to build and complete the project. It is one of my hallmark moments to see something What made you become a Realtor? In 1988 I joined a commercial firm in Somerville, NJ., and was mentored by a longtime family friend and real estate broker. I attended state and local govemment meetings, learning the process of changes in use and zoning laws, seeing a subdivision created from start to finish and the process of redevelopment projects and commercial leasing. I returned to college and received a BA in Political Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University. After several years working in Washington D.C. I returned to New Jersey and accepted a position at the NJ Housing and HOLLY A. HAVENS prepared on paper be built with bricks and mortar. What is the most gratifying aspect of what you do? Doing what I love shows. My skill set is expansive and suits my personality. I have owned a multi-family property and purchased, renovated and general contracted a few single family properties in the last 20+ years. I am not afraid to work hard and get my hands dirty. I have worked in three states and purchase is unlike the other. It is so gratifying for me to get a call from a former client asking if I can help out a friend purchase and/or sell their home. My passion for the real estate profession is a career and I don't call it work.
