Brick Tavern Inn celebrates 200 years The Brick Tavem Inn, as it is now known, was established in mid-1818. The bricks are said to have been fired on site, from the area's abundant red clay. It has, through the years, served as a stop on the Underground Railroad, a stagecoach and trolley stop, a thriving stockyard and weigh station for cattle sales, a post office, general store, a storage garage for trolley cars, and a machine shop for agricultural tools. The real history, though, is the story of the expe- riences of people who have gathered here over the last 200 years to visit, dine and celebrate together Submitted by Brick Tavern Inn
