Our family history begins over fifty years ago in Miramar, a seaside community near Havana, Cuba. In our household, enjoying traditional Cuban meals was a way of life. it would all start in the kitchen, or in the outdoors brick barbacoa, where family and friends gathered to prepare delicious dishes. these occasions were both a culinary treat and a social event; friends and relatives brought their own special recipes, or perhaps just an unexpected and wonderful twist on an old favorite. The results were enjoyed by all!
Our family left Cuba in 1959, following Castro's takeover. However, we brought over our culinary traditions and have continued to celebrate Cuban heritage, first in San Juan, Puerto Rico and later in Miami, Florida.
In the tradition of Mami and Papi, all 6 children, grandchildren, and now great-grandchildren have embraced this Cuban cuisine and we've expended it into Mojito Cuba Caribe.
