An Important Message from our Editor and Publisher Dear Readers, This is a time of many firsts for all of us, including the Herald. Last week, in response to the needs of our community, we launched a daily Local Coronavirus Briefing. This week we started "express local delivery" of the paper. Next week we are launching a Free Local Business Directory to help local businesses and customers connect with each other. For the first time in 18 years, we are now asking our readers for financial support, something our independent, family-run newspaper company had never done. Last week we announced the creation of a new Community Joumalism Find. In the wake of an unsustainable loss in advertising revenues, this fund will enable us to continue providing free local news and support to countless local civic organizations, nonprofits, small businesses and the arts. Your responses to our call for support have been both extremely helpful and heartwarming. They came online, by phone and by mail. Many including uplifting notes, like these: "Thank you for the great work and serice you provide to the community!" "Thank you for all you do for the comnunity! We appreciate you more than you know." "I moved here from Orange County, CA 20 months ago. You're the best small-town newspaper l've ever come across. Thanks for all you do." Our small but mighty team remains dedicated to our mission of providing outstanding local news and support to our community. We hope you, too, believe in our mission, and that we can count on your support to help us Donors to the Herald's Community Journalism Fund: March 19-25, 2020 We thank you for your support! carry on Andrew Preston Ann Meredith Jane Ramsey Jaqui & John Hover Jeanne Mantell With gratitude for your support and wishes for good health, Anonymous (18) Barbara Arbani Barbara & Dr. Lamberto Bentivoglio Beth O' Brien Betsy & Charlie Meredith Bill Scandone Andyt Bridget Wingert Joe Ferry John Soderberg Karen Kreller & David Crane Katharine Tweedy Kay Rock Kurfiss International Realty Larry Rakowsky & Sharon Yerkes Leonard DiSesa Joe Wingert Publisher Editor PS: To sign up for Local Express Delivery call 215.794.1096 or visit our website.
